Olaf Jensen, PhD

My research in Mongolia focuses on lakes and rivers, the fish that inhabit them, and the ways that people use them. Primary study sites include Lake Hovsgol and rivers of the Selenge River watershed. I collaborate with the Taimen Conservation Fund on studies of taimen population dynamics, response to climate change, and impacts from fishing. I will be bringing students to Mongolia for social-ecological field research experiences in summer 2018-2020 through an NSF-sponsored project. This program is open to applications from any graduate or undergraduate student at a US university.
