My work in Mongolia has focused on the ecology and conservation of endangered fish in Lake Hovsgol and the rivers of its watershed. Specifically, I have worked on the impacts of anthropogenic stressors such as illegal fishing, hydropower development, microplastic pollution, and climate change on Mongolian fish populations using a mixture of field survey, interview, and modeling approaches. I am interested in working to build Mongolia’s capacity for natural resource management and in developing new collaborations across ecology, conservation, and management in Mongolia. I am trained as an ecologist / natural resource scientist and have extensive GIS and programming skills in addition to five years of experience working in Mongolia.
