CAORC NEH Senior and Multi-Country Research Fellowships are seeking applications!

CAORC-NEH SENIOR RESEARCH FELLOWSHIP

The CAORC National Endowment for the Humanities Senior Research Fellowship supports advanced research in the humanities for U.S. scholars who hold a PhD (and also foreign national scholars who have been residents in the U.S. for at least three years).

Scholars must carry out research in a country which hosts a participating American Overseas Research Center. Eligible countries are: Algeria, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Cambodia, Cyprus, Georgia, Indonesia, Mexico, Mongolia, Morocco, Myanmar (Burma), Nepal, Senegal, Sri Lanka or Tunisia.

Fellowship stipends are $5,000 per month for four to six consecutive months.

Minority scholars and scholars from Minority Serving Institutions are strongly encouraged to apply.

Fellowship Guidelines

Funding is provided by the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) under the Fellowship Programs at Independent Research Institutions (FPIRI).

CAORC MULTI-COUNTRY RESEARCH FELLOWSHIP

The CAORC Multi-Country Research Fellowship supports advanced regional or trans-regional research in the humanities, social sciences, or allied natural sciences for U.S. doctoral candidates and scholars who have already earned their PhD.

Scholars must carry out research in two or more countries outside the U.S, at least one of which hosts a participating American Overseas Research Center. Nine awards of $11,500 each will be granted.

Each year the highest-ranking Multi-Country Fellowship applicant will receive an additional $1,000 toward travel expenses. The award is named after CAORC’s founding director, Dr. Mary Ellen Lane.
