From June 6-July 1st, 2016, the ACMS US Office at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia hosted an NEH-supported summer institute on the theme of Modern Mongolia. 23 university and college educators from around the country were supported to study at the Institute, which was held at the University of Pennsylvania campus. The Institute was co-directed by Morris Rossabi (Columbia University), and ACMS US Director David Dettmann with the help of 10 expert presenters from around the US.

The goal of the Institute was to provide humanities-focused resources for college and university educators to incorporate Modern Mongolia into their teaching curriculum. By week four the summer scholars were able to present course module ideas influenced by their four weeks of study that fit their teaching plans.

A resource page will be assembled over time with teaching resources constructed and/or gathered by the summer scholars.
