The American Center for Mongolian Studies (ACMS) is a private, non-profit educational organization that supports academic projects and exchanges in Mongolia and the Inner Asian region, which includes Mongolia and the neighboring areas of China, Russia and Central Asia.
The American Center for Mongolian Studies is seeking diligent, organized, team-player interns for the following areas:
- YouTube Channel Enrichment Internship
Semesters: Fall 2020
Description: YouTube Channel Enrichment Intern works closely with the Communications Coordinator to improve the ACMS YouTube channel, namely in translating subtitles into Mongolian, and timestamping chapters. The ACMS YouTube Channel currently has over 400 subscribers and about 60 videos, predominant of which are public lectures titled “Speaker Series”. The interns will be provided their own workstation and have the opportunity to shadow the Communications Coordinator in managing a YouTube channel and to learn community contribution procedures on YouTube.
Projects / Assignments:
- Leading community contribution forms on YouTube
- Translating the video subtitles into Mongolian on the YouTube platform
- Watching the channel videos
- Annotating the chapters of the public lectures in timestamps
Skills and qualifications:
A student or a recent graduate of English/American Studies, Translation Studies, or other related field is preferred. Applicants should be well organized, have strong translation skills, and able to type in Mongolian.
