Lotus Centre, The

The Lotus Centre is a Mongolian registered NGO based in Ulaanbaatar. The center serves low-income and homeless children. It is home to about 150 children to whom it provides food, clothes,education and healthcare. It also provides support services after the children leave the center so they can "break free of the poverty cycle." The center has also developed programs to help families stay together, such as a sewing income generating project and food distribution to families in need. The Lotus Centre was founded in 1995 by the Australian Didi Kalika.
