Lib4u is the most common information automation software in use in Mongolia. It comes in two versions: The "NET" version was developed for larger institutions with more than one branch and the "PC" version is for smaller libraries. While it has the capability to create Online Public Access Catalogs (OPAC) only the Science and Technology University currently has their catalog open to internet users.[1]
The software has the following capabilities:[2]
- Supports Mongolian language inputs.
- Can run an OPAC.
- Creates barcodes.
- Generates use statistics.
- Compatible with UNIMARC.
- Supports all library classifications.
- Has a secure user registration and report system.
- Prints catalog cards.
