Supporting the ACMS Library |

The ACMS Library always welcomes the generous support of those interested in improving the quality of library services and materials available in Mongolia. The ACMS is a US registered 501(c)3 not-for-profit, academic organization, so contributions may be tax deductible in the US. The library has received support in numerous ways since its establishment in 2004. These have included in-kind book donations, grants, cash donations, and assistance shipping materials. The library aims to build a quality collection of materials related to Inner Asian Studies and materials of research value to scholars in academic fields active in the region. Quality is very important, and the ACMS Library is privileged to have hundreds of high-quality and rare books to offer scholars due to the generous donations of many individuals and organizations. There are several ways for you contribute to the collection and the library. You may donate private collections or individual volumes to the center. to work out the details of the donation. Of course, another option is to bring books with you in small quantities if you travel to Mongolia. The ACMS encourages scholars to bring 1 or 2 books per trip to donate something to the rest of the community. For direct cash contributions there are two ways to support the library which are described in more detail below: The ACMS Library is working to become a world class facility, and through the contributions and donations of people like you, since 2004 the quality and quantity of the collection has grown significantly. The Board of Directors of the ACMS requests your support in donating to the ACMS Library Development Fund. The ACMS library plays a key role in fostering the development of international scholarship in the region, and in making Mongolian scholarly resources available to the world. It is the most accessible library in Mongolia with a collection focused on English language scholarship on the region, and it provides the only access in Mongolia to the JSTOR full-text database of over 700 scholarly journals. The library receives an average of over 50 Mongolian and 10 international visitors every day. The ACMS library is building world-class systems and resources to serve as a model for other libraries in the country. Your contribution will greatly facilitate this work. The ACMS Library has created an Amazon.com wish list of materials to add to the library collection. You can browse the list and select items to purchase for the collection. You may either have the items shipped directly to the center in Mongolia, the ACMS's US office at Western Washington University, or to yourself to bring along on a trip to Mongolia. Note that shipping directly to Mongolia requires international parcel post rates. Click on the link below to see the list.

. There are two ways to check the ACMS collection for titles. The ACMS especially encourages Area Studies experts to make recommendations for the ACMS Amazon.com wish list, as well as general acquisitions from other vendors and publishers. The ACMS regularly acquires books using funds provided by donors to the Library Development Fund, and the ACMS greatly appreciates receiving recommendations for materials that will best serve its patrons. |
