The American Center for Mongolian Studies (ACMS) as part of the Local Libraries and Archives project (LLAP) under the guidance of the American Institute for Yemeni Studies (AIYS) and the Council of American Overseas Research Centers (CAORC), and funding support from the US Department of Education Technological Innovation and Cooperation for Foreign Information (TICFIA) program has conducted several surveys of local archives and resource centers to document the quality and composition of their holdings. The ACMS has conducted the surveys in phases, gathering general information initially and focusing on specific information in subsequent surveys.
