Membership Information
The American Center for Mongolian Studies (ACMS) offers annual membership to individuals, corporations, and institutions who support the ACMS's mission of promoting scholarship in Mongolia. By becoming a member of the ACMS you are joining a community of people and institutions dedicated to increasing scholarship and research opportunities in Mongolia and Inner Asia. Membership is offered on an annual basis at the following rates: $10 for Students, $20 for Individuals, $100 for Patron and Corporate Members, and $200 for Institutional Members.
Membership entitles individuals and organizations to the following benefits and privileges:
Individual and Student:
- Receive copies of the ACMS Newsletter.
- Receive This Month in Mongolian Studies e-mail announcements.
- Receive voting rights to elect ACMS board members at large.
- Receive reduced fees for ACMS services.
Patron and Corporate:
- Receive copies of the ACMS Newsletter.
- Receive This Month in Mongolian Studies e-mail announcements.
- Receive voting rights to elect ACMS board members at large.
- Receive reduced fees for ACMS services.
- Receive recognition of patron member status in the ACMS Newsletter and on the ACMS website.
Institution:
- Nominate 1 individual to represent the institution on the ACMS board of directors.
- Nominate 3 individuals to receive copies of the ACMS Newsletter and This Month in Mongolian Studies e-mail announcements.
- Receive voting rights to elect ACMS officers.
- Receive other rights and priveleges as outlined in the ACMS by-laws.
- Receive reduced fees for ACMS services.
- Receive recognition of institutional member status in the ACMS Newsletter and on the ACMS website.
Members are a crucial element of the ACMS and its future growth. Membership dues provide funds for supporting various center activities, and a large membership pool demonstrates the rationale for increased public support of Mongolia Studies and discipline-based research in Mongolia. Please note that the ACMS Bylaws Article 1 Section 1.05 stipulates that all memberships expire the following August 31st (the third August 31st for 3 year memberships) after payment of dues. -The American Center for Mongolian Studies is a United States registered 501(c)3 not-for-profit, academic organization. As described in Internal Revenue Service Publication 526, membership dues and donations paid to the ACMS may be tax deductible.
