If you are interested in policy-analysis and policy-making, the University of British Columbia (UBC) in Vancouver, Canada, offers a boutique graduate program that emphasizes the development of local knowledge with policy-relevance, the Master of Arts Asia Pacific Policy Studies (MAPPS). The program can be completed in 12-24 months at

Dr. Julian Dierkes, Graduate Advisor for the MAPPS program, will provide an overview over the program in a brief presentation and Q&A session.
Julian Dierkes is an associate professor at the Institute of Asian Research of the University of British Columbia. His research focuses on contemporary Japanese education, but he has also become very interested in Mongolia, especially in the education system and mining policy. Dr. Dierkes coordinates the Program on Inner Asia at UBC and serves on the Board of Directors of the ACMS.
