Academic Conferences in Mongolia |
Coming Together The American Center for Mongolian Studies (ACMS) sponsors and organizes academic conferences, seminars, and public lectures in order to provide the local and international public in Mongolia an opportunity to learn about research and scholarship being conducted in the region. The ACMS Ulaanbaatar center is located in the National University of Mongolia, putting it in the heart of the academic community in Mongolia—a community producing knowledge in a diverse set of disciplines. Mongolia serves as the field research location for scholars in fields such as the humanities, history, economics, biology, climatology, forestry, public policy, archeology, and medicine. The ACMS in turn serves as a clearinghouse of information about the various research projects occurring in the country. Moreover, conferences, seminars, and lectures sponsored and organized by the ACMS provide scholars a venue in which to share their research results to the rest of the academic community and the general public in Mongolia. The ACMS organizes and catalogs the information generated from these events to serve as baseline for guiding future research.
